Foreclosure Prevention Help
Home Partnership, Inc. provides counseling and education services for families and individuals who are unable to make mortgage payments on homes they currently own. Whether due to medical emergency, changes or loss of job, separation or divorce or even death of a spouse, Home Partnership can help. Under a new initiative developed in partnership with Maryland State Department of Housing and Community Development, help is now available to residents of Baltimore, Harford and Cecil Counties. The initiative provides information and direct assistance for homeowners who are falling behind on mortgage payments or facing the prospect of losing their homes.
The Foreclosure Prevention initiative starts with individuals and families attending informational meetings. Topics covered include: understanding the Maryland foreclosure process, home retention options, scam alerts and available counseling and re-financing resources. For a complete list of upcoming informational meetings with dates and times please click here and be sure to fill out the registration form. Registration is required. Please Note, Home Partnership offers no financial assistance for clients.
Informational meetings are followed with individual counseling sessions with Home Partnership staff. One-on-one counseling sessions include budget counseling, direct assistance in working with lenders and mortgage servicers, and referrals, if necessary, to relevant agencies for additional services.
Where both informational meetings and one-on-one counseling are helpful, families already having received notices from their lender or mortgage servicing company are encouraged to contact Home Partnership immediately at 410-679-3200.
