Programs

HPI offers programs built around the mission of creating successful homeownership opportunities for individuals and families. Through housing counseling families find answers to their own particular questions or problems before and after the purchase of a home. Homebuying Education is classroom instruction by professionals on the process of purchasing and maintaining a home in today's market. Financial Literacy Training gives people a foundation for developing budgeting and financial skills and develops savings skills along the way. Closing Cost Assistance are programs developed with public and private partners to help families raise funds necessary for a home purchase. Housing Development provides real housing opportunities through one of HPI's home ownership programs.

First-Time Homebuyer Education Program (Price will increase to $100 per registration 1/1/2015)

First-Time Homebuying Education is classroom instruction on how to purchase, maintain and stay in your home. Learn from professionals and with others looking to buy a home. Share experiences. Find out what choices are available to you in the homebuying process, so you have the information needed to make the best choice for you.

Take this class only if you are planning to purchase your home in either Harford, Anne Arundel, Howard or Carroll Counties. DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS IF YOU ARE PURCHASING IN BALTIMORE COUNTY OR BALTIMORE CITY.  There is a $65 registration fee per registration - payable through PayPal, credit card or debit card.

Pre- and Post-Purchase Housing Counseling

Homebuyers and/or Homeowners can benefit from a personal one-on-one meeting with a Housing Counselor. This provides a confidential setting to address questions about budgeting, mortgage options, the real estate transaction, settlement, credit, property taxes, property repair and/or home improvements. Housing counseling provides information about the options and resources available. Whether you are purchasing your first home, just settled on a property, or have owned for many years, Home Partnership, Inc. will work with you in your efforts to attain affordable, sustainable homeownership

Foreclosure Prevention Program

Home Partnership, Inc. provides counseling and education services for families and individuals who are having trouble making mortgage payments on homes they currently own. Whether due to  medical emergency, reduction in income, changes or loss of job, separation or divorce or even death of a spouse, Home Partnership can help. Under a new initiative developed in partnership with Maryland State Department of Housing and Community Development, help is now available to residents of Baltimore, Harford and Cecil Counties. The initiative provides information and direct assistance for homeowners who are falling behind on mortgage payments or facing the prospect of losing their homes.

NCI Closing Cost Assistance Program

The primary purpose of the Maryland Neighborhood Conservation Initiative (NCI) is to encourage Harford County residents to consider home ownership in Aberdeen (21001), Abingdon (21009), and Edgewood (21040). Home Partnership, Inc. (HPI) is the local administrator for this program on behalf of the Maryland Department of Housing and Community Development. Loans are available up to $7,500 at closing for eligible homebuyers to be used toward closing costs.
